Description | In this course, we will explore several approaches to Bible study, including: analysis of the text, study of a topic, and a character study. The student must read 1 Peter at least twice in advance. This course should enable the student to do the following: Identify the purpose of the author when he wrote the letter and be able to apply the message to today; for example, hope in suffering. Be able to take into consideration the context (biblical, historical, cultural, and linguistic) of the original message. Find the main idea of a given biblical text. Be able to explain the meaning of a text in his/her own words. Be able to use the following Bible study tools: concordance, Bible dictionary, cross references, commentaries, and Bible atlas. Be able to prepare a study on a theme. |
